Amaranth

What I'd like to know is what exactly is Amaranth? I based my knowledge upon it on a theory I read, believing it to be the state where all souls re-aggregate back into individual godhead without the sundering of that individuality. However I have read a few things that questioned this view, which have brought me to asking this question.

It is another Dreamer (Godhead), dreaming it's own dream whose in Love with it's dreams.

It's the true purpose of Tamriel.

Thanks, though I knew the part about it being the true purpose of Tamriel. Anyway, does it involve separating oneself from the godhead?

Calling it the 'true purpose of Tamriel' is fairy misleading, even if the text says that, because you have tl account for writer bias. One Aedra out of hundreds had something like Amaranth in mind when creating the world, all the rest had another purpose in mind. So really, can we say 'Amaranth is the true purpose' when only one guy out of hundreds was going for that?

In my opinion, the loveletter isn't just about Amaranth: I think it's talking, in a general sense, about transcendence; escaping mortal bounds. Of course, the ultimate end of that is Amaranth, but I doubt the gods had that in mind when the world was formed. I rarely ascribe much foresight or intelligence to the gods at all - they just "are". So the loveletter talks about the walking ways - to reach a "Z" subgradient that is beyond death. Whether Amaranth is this subgradient or not I cannot answer, but in any case the way there leads one above mortality. The true purpose of Tamriel is to overcome Tamriel - and the purpose it was created for was to overcome what came before it.

If you're curious, you should read Loveletter From the Fifth Era.

Those who do not fail become the New Men: an individual beyond all AE, unerased and all-being. Jumping beyond the last bridge of all existence is the Last Existence, The Eternal I.
Amaranth is a form of transcendence that allows you to escape the godhead's dream.
I AM.
A whole World of You.
God.
God outside of all else but his own free consciousness, hallucinating for eternity and falling into love: I AM AND I ARE ALL WE.
Having escaped, nothing exists in this new reality except for you. You are essentially in the same position that the Godhead was in.
C0DA Digitals have confirmed that a subject in sensory deprivation begins to hallucinate after only twenty minutes. Scale unto this along the magical spectrum and maintenance of time, which is forever, and you begin to see the Lunar God’s failure as Greatest Gift. As above, “This is the love of God.”
And just like the godhead, you hallucinate your own world. A world that you love because it came from and consists of nothing but you.
Why Love?
Know Love to avoid the Landfall, my brothers and sisters of the past.
The New Man becomes God becomes Amaranth, everlasting hypnogogic. Hallucinations become lucid under His eye and therefore, like all parents of their children, the Amaranth cherishes and adores all that is come from Him.
I ARE ALL WE.
God is Love.
COME TO THE HOUSE OF WE.
God is Love.
ONE WORLD IN SPIRIT I AM.
God is Love.
