[RELZWIPZBETA] DarNified UI

Post » Mon Nov 12, 2012 10:25 pm

I'm having a problem that I think is related to this mod (I can't think of any other mod that influences my inventory, besides maybe Display Stats).

All of a sudden (didn't play for a while) I noticed the symbols at the top of the inventory (the gold coin, feather, sword/shield and heart) are gone. Also when I switch to the other type of inventory view the symbols are gone. When hovering over the places where they would be I get empty buttons. Has anyone any idea how I could solve this?

Otherwise, years ago this was my first mod and I still view it as the most essential. :)

I use both and do not have this issue. Simplest I think would be to unistall both, reinstall Danified UI then install display stats. Perhaps something else overwrote a file. Make sure you choose the correct folder (Darnified UI) in display stats install. The Dandark UI sometimes confused me :)

DarN man I love you, I dont think I could play Oblivion properly without this mod(I HATE menu scrolling with a small console-style windows). Lookin forward to what you can do with that slick Skyrim UI.

But could you add a little line in the Usage section about the ingame config menu? Honestly I feel like an idiot but I never knew that existed and only chanced by accident on a short video showing it after a ton of google searching to find out how to move the sneak icon :P

You'll find info about it in the http://darnified.net/forums/articles/configuring_ui_33.0.html. Note that the alterations you make in the ingame menu won't stick - but http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34792 takes care of that (requires OBSE).

I already tried that a couple of times, it didn't work :nope:

Iv'e just posted this message on the Darn forum & got the 120 day message so I will try a post on here as well.

Iv'e just come back to this again after some months finding ways to increase the difficulty in Nehrim with some success. Now I want to get back into playing again & I would still love to have your compass Weapons & sneak eye in game. It would be great to have some of the the other components as well, but the ones I can't live without are the Hud options. Brumbek has successfully ported the dialog menu & iv'e turned on the cinematics option but I haven't found any way to install , just the Hud elements of the DarNifiedUI .

I always get the inventory screens as well. If I don't install any of the Darn options I get the standard Oblivion stats & inventory menus.

Now after trying many times to install the bits, I really wanted from your mod, I seem to have screwed up their inventory & stats as well. The buttons in the bottom row on their inventory are no longer properly aligned.

http://img9.imageshack.us/i/oblivion201102281806280.jpg/

It's not the XML settings that are causing the issue, as they are identical in both my installs & I don't have this problem in my other install so I'm left with textures or meshes as a possible cause .

There are some really nice ideas in the default Nehrim menus that I would like to keep, for instance this addition by JOG http://img109.imageshack.us/i/oblivion201102281805197.jpg/ this is part of http://www.sureai.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=86&t=3057.

Also the four round buttons that replace the compass & health stats at the bottom of the Oblivion menus, these ones http://img9.imageshack.us/i/oblivion201102281806280.jpg/ the one that are now, not properly aligned. they take you, from left to right, to your stats, weapons, spells, & map. with their various Sub menus. This would be a nice innovation in the oblivion menus as well. But I would love to reduce the size of all the elements in the inventory & stats screens at 1600x1200 they look downright ugly. if all those buttons could be reduced by half :cryvaultboy: . I know this is unlikely to happen, but I would love to have at least, the small frame-less Compass The small weapons icons the tiny crosshairs & sneakeye & health & magic bars et al.

When I was playing oblivion I spent hours getting my Hud just right & now I seem to be stuck with this, http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/3664/oblivion201102281807470.jpg. as none of my attempts to change it have worked Thanks in advance for any help

I'm using DarN's UI and playing at FOV 90 via Streamline. If I change fDefaultFOV to 90 in the Oblivion.ini (following advice for Fearsome Magicka when using other than default FOVs) the menus and HUD icons get messed up. I wonder if there's some setting in DarN that can be changed to have it work with changed fDefaultFOV settings? One reason being that I suspect it would fix one of my issues - namely that the FOV gets reset to 75 once in a while, probably because of a mod.

No wonder why I could go anywhere!!! I was looking at the wrong file. Because of the first link you provided I can change the settings.

Thankyou, That link should of been sticky on the first page (Unless I am blind and its looking and waving its arms at me) of this post.

DarN thanks for all your work on this great program!

Used the OMod install and can't find where the custom_files folder installed, anyone know it's location? I had to download the 7zip version as well to get the file needed for Loading Screens compatibility xml.

Thanks.

Right, I'm staring at three XML's right now, the default, the one from raised spellmaking/enchant limits, and Darn UI, and I'm completely lost.

What I want is to apply the raised limits to DarnUI instead of making an obvious mistake and applying a non-Darn-ed xml. I simply dont have the technical ability to figure out which is the value that denotes the limit. I cant even figure out the number that denotes the limit, let alone apply that to DarnUI without some scrollbar going off screen.

I'm simply not cut out for this code stuff.

Raised spellmaking/enchant limits, as in for Supreme Magicka? I'm using DarkUI'd Darn but the file location should be the same.

1. Go Data\menus\prefabs\darn
2. Edit enchantmentsetting_config.xml with notepad
3. Locate "Enchantment limits", the last section and modify it until it looks like so:
Spoiler

<!-- Enchantment limits (def.100,100,120) -->
<!-- If you've been using "Raised Spellmaking Enhancements Limits", it's values are 300,300,360. -->
<_esmagnitudelimit> 300
<_esarealimit> 300
<_esdurationlimit> 360
4. Save and you're done. ^_^

I'm bumping Arkngt question as I am experiencing the same issues. Anyone know why Darn UI menus are affected by FOV changes . I've only change the FOV in my Oblivion.ini and experience the same as described by Arkngt

Hey quick question. The changes I'm making in the game aren't being saved so when I reload everything is back to default. How can I save these settings, or what do I need to edit in order to make my changes the "defaults"?

Depending on what you want to set as default, you need to find and edit the .xml files. Alternatively, you can use http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34792. Not certain whether you can disable it after doing the changes, I'd rather not use it and save the slot for another mod.

Just answering my own question really quick... The way to make Darn UI and menus work when modifying FOV is to use the console command "setcamerafov" INSTEAD of you making the change in your Oblivion.ini or Streamline.ini files.

Works perfectly. Thanks!!!

I only have around 70 mods so I'm not worried about it taking up a slot :)

I am trying to get a custom reticle to be displayed but it won't show up in game! I am using the archive invalidation from Wrye Bash so my file under "\textures\menus\misc\hud_reticle.dds" should get displayed but it does not. Also if i use an alternate file name such as "hud_reticle_detail.dds" from the optional add-on it does not get displayed in game either. I re-checked the xml config files and can't find anything obviously wrong with them. The only time i get a visible reticle is when i don't specify a "hud_reticle.dds" file anywhere or even place one in the folder. Any ideas?

A small update on things I've tried; I just extracted the original "hud_reticle.dds" from the BSA and placed it in the folder where it should be seen.... guess what? The game won't display ANY "hud_reticle.dds" in the folder.

I am still trying to figure this one out. Is there a size (resolution) restriction on the hud_reticle.dds? I did find an alternative reticle that does display and it is much smaller and only has two colors. Does anyone have alternative reticles like the bow sniper one that works?

When I played the PS3 version I remember that in the journal attributes screen the base numbers for the skills are blue and any artificially made higher are green and lower are red. I have started the game and the current value is not showing but just the base. I chose "The steed" which gives me fortify speed +10 and I can see it in my active lists but my speed stat says blue 35 rather than green 45. Is it supposed to show the current in Darnified and if it is any idea why it isn't showing?

I've seen a lot of mentions about collapsible headers, for hiding keys and whatnot. But when I click on my headers, nothing happens.

I'm using DarkUId DarN btw, which is supposed to have all of DarNified UI version 1.3.2 in it. Does it not work with the DarkUI element?

If you click on the separators for the various sections, they will indeed collapse
