I'd say it's fake. Obviously.

Yes obviously. But still...it has that realistic quality to it. Like it could have actually happened.
Its still funny as hell.

You should post the link in your sig too. So more people experience real-life zombies.
Anyway, back to the topic. No zombies in Brink. Please. That can be Splash's next title, zombies vs. humans.

I'll do that now. But honestly, I don't see a Zombie mode. It just seems like an add-on to keep us playing when(if) we get bored. And I highly oppose ideas like this, it makes me feel as if they know they didn't put enough initial content.

To me, increased level caps seem like shameless skinner conditioning. You are compelled to reach the new level cap with no real enjoyment behind doing it.

Good idea. That way Brink will be 10x better because it'll be copying off of Call of Duty.

Wait a minute......

Seems to be the plan behind most FPS companies

1. Copy COD
2. ???
3. Profit

If they made one with a story to it this would be my idea.

There are supposedly people who hunted for the Ark and never found it. These people grouped together and formed a nation of sorts and with every nation you need an army (except Switzerland, joking of course  ). This nation waited and watched from a far off distance and waited for a chance to strike the Ark and found no greater time then when both of the "Armies" of the Ark were in no shape to fight. What these Warlords wanted from the Ark, the limitless tech it offered for this struggling "nation."

After the Ark's Civil War they are faced with an even greater enemy. With neither group able to fight back to defend their home the Resistance and Security must set aside the differences and march forward and face a new enemy who has invaded their "borders."

I don't know technically this would add two new teams and a new campaign. Maybe it could be revisiting the maps from the original campaigns but with massive changes due to the war and the affects of the battles that occurred. Oh and new guns from this mainland tribe.

What do you mean the Swiss are armed to the teeth, why do you think no one ever messes with them?

Also if they never found the Ark orginally, how did they find it now? Also the Ark resources are already overworked and where did these people stay safe during the flood?

To me, increased level caps seem like shameless skinner conditioning. You are compelled to reach the new level cap with no real enjoyment behind doing it.

So why do people play WOW then?

Like I just said, skinner conditioning. This will explain it better than I can. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/extra-credits/2487-The-Skinner-Box

But basically, feeling the compulsion to do something in a game doesn't mean that you actually enjoy doing it.

True that. New abilities aren't a bad thing that being said.

Yes, WoW has truly mastered compulsive gaming. I used to play it until I realized I wasn't having fun anymore, and hadn't for months.

That's true. With that being said, I bet SD would be able to come out with something innovative that would allow you to play longer (for a purpose of course) while having [a challenging] fun [time]. Maybe possibly now they could implement active changing objectives in a map. For example: In the mission where you are meant to destroy the Core Reactor. What if that doesn't work out? Then the system that implements the dynamic objectives would give you a secondary objective that would yield almost the same affects. The "Losers Walk" would still apply except that the winners would be left on a map with a new defensive (or offensive) objective, with new opposition. This would just make the dynamic, interactive team-play that's more diverse and subject to unexpected turnouts, but what would I know? I just want to grief people when they find out they've been Backstabbed by a Heavy Op :D :ahhh:

Of course, as stated before, new weapons wouldn't hurt. Or just more objective options on the same maps.

I find maps that cost money to be far more annoying than guns that cost money. If the guns are balanced properly, they will only give the owner more choices of play style, not any true advantage.

Having more options of playstyles is already an advantage.

If you put weapons into a DLC, there must be an actual reason to buy the DLC. This is usually the advantage these weapons will give you.

True enough, but there's a big difference between offering weapons that are more specialized than the starting weapons, and offering weapons that are better than the starting weapons. Heck, I'd probably pay for a gun that was less effective most of the time, i like adopting weird tactics just to be unpredictable.

I'd really like more maps. The maps that come with release might get a bit repetitive after a couple of months, and some new material would be nice to have in DLC.

If there's a big modding community, there's even the option for them to create a DLC of the best user-created maps for the consoles.

Dynamic, creative new maps and the interesting fun objectives that are exclusive to each level. Let SD patch the weapons and abilities. Maybe a lvl cap increase but not necessary..... but what I would really like to see is even more character customization. I would love it if I could design my own rouge Helgast operative with a bald head and goggles with a bandana over his face or a Brink version of an ISA medic or tactician. I would love SD forever if they did that.

If they put stuff in so you could look like a guy from Killzone, numerous people would use that equipment, taking away from individuality. Just sayin.

Having everyone in your clan all wearing the same upper body coat or something would be cool. Having one third of players running around as a Helgast wouldn't be.

Zombie games can be fun, but I would prefer that the gametype stay in FPS games that aren't focusing on a storyline. One of the main hooks in Brink is that this is the near future, global warming happened, and people are struggling to survive. There's an air of plausibility around the whole thing. It really drags you in, so you can feel like you are one of the people fighting on the Ark, and care about the outcome.

The moment you throw in zombies, you lose a lot of that. Yes, games focusing on zombies can create the proper atmosphere to get you into it, but Brink isn't a horror game.

The whole game is based around the camaign. And a zombie stroyline is more plausible in this case than in most cases, if they spent enough time on it and it was written properly. The current storyline is so close to the truth now and so believable, that a zombie story could work, a zombie outbreak is possible, it's just very unlikely. There was an actual scientific study into it.

Well they already have some Kilzonesque gear on the security side and they already have some other elements that I could hypothetically put together to resemble an ISA saboteur. If they give us a broad enough selection of gear with multiple combinations I dont think we are risking a bunch of KZ clones running around. You can always put a different spin on the look as well. Just saying, it would be a fun subtle tribute.
