The Most Dangerous Game

Post » Sat Mar 13, 2010 3:49 am

EDIT: This is first and foremost a linear RP. You will stay on what path I give you and play follow the leader with my character. The character development and conflict that goes on while we unlock the grisly past is the main basis of this RP.

First and foremost, I'm not sure whether this will be a Fallout or TES RP. First I want to see what people here think of the story and who all would be interested in joining.

You are part of a group of survivors who are brought to an unknown location you have never seen before. All of you were brought here through hopes of adventure and money, kidnapping, slavery, etc. None of you know each other and you're all from different areas. The only thing in your possession is a small bottle of water, a personalized noted, and the clothes on your back. It is filled with a umber of dangerous creatures, such as Yao Guai, deathclaws, and mutated crocodiles; as well as venomous insects. The only relatively clean water is from a river that flows through the location, but only an insane person would try to sneak a drink around a waiting crocodile. The most dangerous threat, however, are the mysterious men who are hunting you down through your journey, seemingly as a fun sport.

You will find what seems to be the remnants of shelters and the possessions of the past inhabitants. Throughout the story you will unlock the history of this place, who put you here, why you are being hunted, and the grisly pasts of the your fellow survivors and the people who once lived here.

Who are these mysterious hunters? Who is the person who put us here? Who were the past inhabitants of this place? Where are we? Why has no one found us? All of these questions will be running through your mind as you fight for survival and your freedom.

So, opinions and suggestions are welcome. I take criticism very well; what I hate is putting work into a piece of garbage no one will enjoy and not being told until it's too late.

Exactly the reason I'm not doing it now. Going to let the rest die out and create when there aren't 50 going on at once.

Yeah, I would wait for the rest to die down, which is what I'm waiting for right now. Looks like a good idea though :).

It seems like a great idea, i think a Fallout theme would fit more with the "hunt for fun" setting your going for, if you made it Fallout based then maybe some people could be the Hunters, i also think if you do go through with this it should an enclosed area, to add to the feeling of being penned in and hunted, maybe ten foot tall electrified fences? so anyone escaping will get a shocking surprise, maybe at one point we can find the door.... padlocked and rigged to explode with a Mini Nuke should anyone touch it lol

The tall mountain range enclosing in the peninsula will serve as the fence. :)

There's a river that runs through it, various crags and slippery crevices for people to fall into, and you learn about the history of the mountain and the abandoned fort on it, too.

The only RP's that are "active" right now are
Forgotten Hero's
Blood, Money, Booze, and more Money.
The Combat Simulator
The Badlands Project

Hmm. Well, to my knowledge, this hasn't been done before here. Though... I might be wrong, actually, I think it may have. And I know it was done several times in TES, but this sort of idea never seems to get very far, because people always wander off on their own. This is the sort of thing that requires very, very careful managing to insure things stay on track, and that the players don't become ridiculously uber. I've never liked them myself, as from personal experience they never end well.

So if you think you can keep the idea and the players together, then by all means, go for it. Otherwise... I'd avoid this idea.

If you couldn't tell by the title, this idea was heavily influenced by the short story. This isn't meant to be a completely original RP, but the story is what is going to be interesting, and the survival aspect makes it fun.

I'm going to using subtle techniques to keep people together and on the same goal, with the help of an iron fist and the "Dragon Kick".

Yes. I always thought the Most Dangerous Game was rather... Odd. Who made the last one, I wonder. It wasn't too long ago, I think. A few months at the most. Was it Lord V? I think it may have been. But anyway, that one never made it past the first thread, if memory serves. Was very disappointing.

But like I said, if you feel up to it, go for it. I'm sure it'll meet with some success as all RPs here do. It's just a matter of how much.

Well, with what little interest has been shown s ofar, I'm probably going to try my luck over at TES Fan Fiction. Might want to check over there every once in a while if you still want to join.

I know. I'm going to be changing the name for the actual RP, but I thought people would catch that with the thread title.

It was actually a short story by Richard Connell, but my RP is going to focus more on the history on the peninsula and the tale of the past inhabitants.

EDIT: Ninja'd

Also, I heavily base and influence my writing on other works. For example, I'm writing a TES Fan Fic reminiscent of Mutiny on the HMS Bounty.

Know what that was? Shameless self promotion.
