PS3 Feature Request

Post » Sat Mar 13, 2010 6:05 pm

I'll skip the new comer intro and get down to business.

No disrespect meant to the people who work on the background music/sound of Brink, but after a while it tends to get old based on my an others' personal opinions. Sony isn't allowed to implement custom soundtracks (MP3 songs of your choosing to play during game play) due to some legal issues, so it's up to the individual games to release that feature as a work around if they want to include that. I find with some games after I've played them a while I like to listen to my own music rather then the same old sounds, That causes a disadvantage for some games Shooters in particular. This would of course be fine if custom sound tracks were implemented.

I as I'm sure others would greatly appreciate it if you added this on the release or as an update.

I personally avoid music while playing FPS games, interferes with listening to things like footsteps.

Just hearing gunfire in your vicinity can be a good alerting mechanism. ;)

But, I do think it should be supported, even though I don't need it.

That's for the hardcoe gamers, really. Playing all casual and with music can be way more fun than a big KDR to wag around. And sometimes a little DnB can really get you into a rush, like playing on drugs, I guess. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBD8y-PrPGI

I agree that it usually takes me out of the game. Listening to the game world really helps.

If you had a 360 this wouldn't be a problem.

So true... I can already see myself bouncing around in games to the tunes of Muse and the Mars Volta.

To me, listen to music with lyrics while playing is very distracting as I usually want to sing along. Some songs from GTA IV's ElectroChoc, like [censored] and Acid or &Down, is more like it. Stuff with a strong base so you can head bang very lightly while playing works, you enjoy the game, you enjoy the music.

While the Ride of the Valkyries is awesome in Apocalypse Now, I don't really consider it a good song for gaming. Usually I go with DnB, because it's really fast and puts a good flow into my game. I mean, srlsy, imagine you waste the enemy team while http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKXKWBcaV3A is playing. It perfectly covers the time span from loading the map to spawning, to getting into the action, to cause a bloodbath.

I can't agree more about DnB while playing FPS games pendulum is a great choice for me gets me hyped up and ready to kill, like as a operative in Brink I can see me listening to Propane Nightmares, or Slam but anything works. Also OT I don't think a special feature just to play music is necessary since from my knowledge on all consoles.... dunno about PS3 since I don't have one.... can play music through them anyway so it really isn't needed.

Wouldn't just using a your MP3 (assuming you have one)? And if not, I thought the PS3 could be hooked up to an MP3, computer, or laptop to play your music. If not, then hopefully they wouldn't mind adding in that nifty addition. However, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRP9vDFZrj8 (although I'm a Hip-Hop head) would be perfect for taking out whoever's in front of my cross-hairs. :flamethrower:

Could always get a pair of http://www.astrogaming.com/products/detail/80/A30-Audio-Systems/ for $200 and add in your own music via a dual input >.>

To be completely accurate, its the mix-amp that does it, but its $130 and for $70 more you get a $130 headset that matches it perfectly.

I personally have my game sound play through a headset because of the hours I get to play, so having the game sound or my music out loud doesn't solve the problem, I also think this would add to the replay value of this or any game and seems like a small an easy feature they could add that would only do good.
