Lofted Collision and 3ds Max 2008

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:48 am

Hey guys - I recently saw http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/3ds_Max:_Lofting%2C_and_it%27s_efficiency_in_collision_modelling to export collision from 3ds Max. I gave it a try, but attempting to export with the lofted shapes caused 3ds Max to crash.

Is there some limitation which prevents Max 2008 from exporting anything other than the pre-defined niftools collision shapes (box, capsule, proxy, etc)? Because the only real difference is that I use the nifprops utility for custom shapes rather than using the pre-defined ones.

And quite improbably, it decided to start working.

The niftools team must be quite annoyed with how picky 3ds Max is.
