How to get rid of grass?

Post » Tue Mar 16, 2010 9:45 pm

Hello!

I'm working on a project again, after a LONG while. So my cs skills are a bit rusty at the moment... could anybody be kind enough to tell me how to remove grass?
I hate building a camp in the cs and afterwards finding everything to be overgrown. I looked it up on the cs but I don't really get any wiser out of it.
Thanks in advance and be well!

Well, the problem seems to remain the same.
I've traid the texture as suggested, it would appear the area I want to edit doesn't edit at all.
However, the area around that does, so I wonder if it's coded or something?
I can paint a square around the area I want to retexture without grass, so any help on that?
Also: just to illustrate, I want to get rid of http://s293.photobucket.com/albums/mm68/Starmatske/Bugs/?action=view¤t=ferns.jpg.
Thanks in advance

Go to the cell in wich you want to get rid of the grass and open the landscape edit seting. Click in the render window so that it is the active window. Than push the 'i' botton on your keyboard. Replace the tetxtures that have grass with those that do not have grass.

Not sure if this is the same as Cabius was saying or not but i hope it was helpfull.

I see, thanks!
I'm gonna try that tomorrow.

Many thanks to you and Cabius!

So I tried replacing the textures, I found the correct ones with ctrl+right click, and replaced those.
But there is no difference, those damn ferns still stand lol!
Any advice again? Thanks!

when you paint out the new texture is it set to 100%? if its lower i think the ferns still will be there because you've layered 2 textures.
