I'm running morrowind under windows xp, on my macbook pro via bootcamp. I'm having an issue i can't seem to solve where morrowind crashes to desktop. I posted this issue on the fliggerty forum, but I think it's about to degrade into some macs vs. pcs drivel. I was wondering if anyone here had any insights. I'll copy and paste the details.
ok, final update till I get a response, because I'm out of idea atm:
tried starting a new game with the script extender, all mods checked, crash
tried starting a new game with script extender, no mods checked, vanilla morrowind, crash
guess I was wrong, it's the mwse.dll that's crashing my game and not census and excise
Even with script extender uninstalled and running morrowind normal, the game will crash if that MWSE.dll is in my directory
I'd rather get mwse to work, rather than mge, because I've gotten it to work in the past and it seems more useful and more user friendly
I'm gonna stop touching stuff now until someone responds.
Just in case it's important. Before I discovered that script extender was the problem, I had installed the census and excise mod, and had been trying to get that to work. I originally thought the two .dll's from that mod were crashing it.
Specifically, what happens is: it crashes to desktop and has the "send report to windows" or "ignore" message. And it say's the problem is MWSE.dll. I can go on in a little bit and read exactly what it says.
This happens when I load a save, during "initializing data" or when i start a new game, the second I click "New"
Just to be clear this is all Windows XP, Mac OSX is NOT running.
The reason I mention it's a macbook pro is in case anyone is familiar with the hardware.
P.S. I've gotten script extender to work on an intel based computer with windows xp before.
