So, I'm trying to do the "My Kind of Town" quest, and have gotten as far as to rescue the cowardly deputy... and decided I'd like to give the job to Meyers in the NCR "Correctional Facility." Seems like the most fitting resolution. Anyway, every time I go and talk to to him, I get something about the NCR cleaning the place up and him staying out of their way. This is the same, only thing he's said ever since I helped the NCR take the place back as part of the "I Fought the Law" quest series. (Did that set of quests as my very first thing quick because I wanted to try talking to the Powder Gangers before pissing them all off in the gunfight back at Goodsprings.)

Is this a bug, or is assaulting the jail supposed to eliminate this quest resolution?

And if it is a bug, does anyone know how to reset Meyer's status so I can get into a convo with him about becoming sheriff?
