Mythic Dawn in Bravil

Post » Thu Mar 18, 2010 11:24 am

As I was playing Oblivion and just about leave Bravil after completing the Allies for Bruma- quest there, I suddenly got attack by a Mythic Dawn agent.. INSIDE CASTLE BRAVIL.. ..it turned out to be Hans Black-Nail, the castle blacksmith. <_<

So what Iam wondering is if anyone else have found themselves attack by Hans Black-Nail when you are about to leave Bravil during the MQ? Or was it just my game that started acting a little wierd?

It's not unusual in the least bit. There are several people throughout Cyrodiil that are Mythic Dawn agents. Once you get far enough in the main quest, they will attack you on sight. Perfectly normal.

A fair number of the MD sleeper agents have AI that keeps them away from the player most of the time. Else God-Hater never leaves the Inn, so if you don't go there during their active period, you'll never have her attack. The pair of Dunmers at Riverside only get out on Sundas.

At the other extreme, Stybjorn and Marguerite Diel are hunting for you in the city, so you'll almost always encounter them.

Hans Black-Nail has a daily routine that takes him outside the castle, so you're quite likely to run across him if you go to Bravil whether he's activated or not.

Funny thing about the Mythic Dawn sleepers is that if they get involved in a fight before you infiltrates the cult they summon their armor and fight, usually on your side against bandits or monsters.
Even stranger this is also true after the main quest, they fight on your side even if you destroyed their plan and killed their leader.

Someone should make a mod fixing this...

The only Mythic Dawn agent in the game who doesn't usually attack you on sight after you steal Mankar's book is the one in Leyawin. I know who he is, but I've never found a way to make him attack.

And,sometime, when you're escorting Jauffre and Martin one of the sleeper agents will attack Martin. I had that happen between Chorrol and Bruma with one of the agents who has an out-of-town visitng schedule.

these agents are the ones that you can sort of taunt to get them to attack you.

The one in Leyawiin (Cingor) is a member of the Fighter's guild, and if you're also a member he likes you enough not to attack. I think the UOP takes him out of the MD completely.

You can avoid the Else God Hater ayttack by raising her disposition with you before the Mythic Dawn Agent attacks start (prior to the MD Shrine purge).

I find her attitude refreshing, so we became friendly early and although she may be a bit jumpy about me, but she has not attacked.

This was also something I found rather shocking. I walk into the skingrad inn, ask for a pint, and get attacked by the tart Else-God-hater, whom the guards kill as I wanted no part in it.

And I was on the "kill Faelin" quest, the one you have to do inside, and when I was waiting they attacked and killed him, then I didn't get my bonus! I didn't kill him, how could Phillada think it was the DB? It was the MD obviously.
