Lost ED-E, Need Ref ID

Post » Thu Mar 18, 2010 8:16 am

I lost ED-E, but he clearly isn't dead yet. Anyone have his ID so I can console command him to me, or I to him? I've searched everywhere and can't find his ref ID on the net.

Sorry to piggyback off of this, but how do we find ref IDs in the GECK? I need to replicate the Missing Laser Pistol because the quest bugged.

How did you lose him? Just suddenly or after a objective in his quest?

Unfortunately I just had this problem about an hour ago. Found the same (correct) RefID that scruggs posted above, but neither teleporting ED-E to me or teleporting myself to ED-E accomplished anything. The former did...nothing (ED-E didn't appear at my location), the latter sent me to a room I had visited earlier but with no sign of ED-E. I also tried large amounts of fast traveling and waiting/sleeping with no luck. ED-E was not at his original location or my home either. I couldn't even kill him in the console (with kill or setav health). I had to resort to reloading an earlier save, leaving ED-E outside, and redoing the cells where he disappeared.

By any chance did you lose him in
Spoiler
a vault?

Well ill go ahead the jump on the wagon, i just posted this in "360 issues", i had this same problem. I decided to loot 34 and now i cant find ED-E anywhere, and being that I'm on 360 i don't have the luxury of trying console commands.

Okay, just found the solution (for me and perhaps other PC users, anyway). Apparently ED-E was somehow disabled, which was why moving to him or moving him didn't do anything. Simply type the following in the console.

prid 1732D1enable (you may not need this if he simply got stuck somewhere)moveto player

Unfortunately using the console (for anything?) seems to disable Steam achievements...so if you care you'll probably have to reload an earlier save. Or perhaps a quick mod could be made to replicate those console commands?

Edit: He disappeared again hours later. :brokencomputer:

(Oh, and if you've completed ED-E's quest, you may need to use one of two different IDs (1732D0 for the armor path, 1732D1 for the weapon path).)

Thanks a lot guys. I used the ref Id to teleport myself to ed-e, using player.moveto 1739d1 . Now everythings gravy I'll just do that in the future again. Once again thanks for all the replies!

I parted with ED-E at one point and supposedly he went off to Primm, but I couldn't find him there. I tried teleporting to him, but that didn't work. I teleported him to me in Primm and it worked. He then went off to the Courier buildings like he was probably supposed to.

Is 1732D1 a final ED-E after a quest? I can't seem to trigger the quest progression when bringing him to the scrapyard north of Novac. The quest points to the old lady, but she offers no dialogue other than buy/sell and repair.

Also, when I lost him, I believe that he suddenly stopped following me, without me issuing a command to pause. I knew that he wasn't killed because the ED-E companion quest was still active.

He was in the sublevel of the Repconn building that is outside of Novac, which is one of the locations I recently was at.
