Help me level efficiently.

Hello! I'd like some help in efficient leveling, just a few questions..

First off, where can I find "spreadsheets" and "ocd's(not sure)" and all that stuff people are talking about.

secondly, is there a "FUN" way to level efficiently?

I'm going for a pure mage for the first time and I'd like it to be awesome

Before using the nGCD leveling mod, I used to efficiently level quite a bit. I actually thought it was fun.

But I never used a spreadsheet. I think someone posted a spreadsheet on the forums long ago, but that post has probably disappeared.

One way to work it though is to just list all the skills on a paper grouped by attribute, and mark each time you get a skill increase after the level up symbol.

But you don't really need to do that either. After getting the symbol, you could identify which three or two attributes you want to increase. Then just keep track of the skills for those attributes and the number of major skill increases. And be careful to not get to the next level up symbol before getting 10 skill increases in those three attribute's skills.

Not sure on spreadsheets. UESP wiki has some very basic info.

The best 'guide' I have ever read on the subject is a long one. Here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/924363-the-elder-scrolls-iv-oblivion/faqs/42091

'Fun' is in the eye of the player. If you enjoy very carefully crafting and designing a plan for a character, then methodically helping the character achieve it, then it is fun. The times I have done this I did enjoy it. I approached leveling efficiently as another quest.

Does it cause you to play counterintuitively in many ways? Yes.
Does it help if your character embraces training activities to help focus the development of their skills? Yes.
It is necessary or important to level efficiently? No. My current character has completely ignored 3 of her attributes (endurance, strength, luck) and in retrospect could have easily have ignored personality and speed as well.

Make sure that you only pick one skill from each governing attribute. This allows you to better control the speed you lift the majors while going for the +5.

ie. Endurance is contolled by Armorer, Block & Heavy Armor.

Only choose one of those 3 skills to be a major.
