Battle.net being down duing "patch day"

Post » Thu Mar 18, 2010 8:51 pm

So today I was going to repurchase (digitally) Diablo II from battle.net but to my surprise it's under maintenance... It's to my understanding that just because it's patch day for WoW they flip the switch on everything and that I have to wait until I purchase Diablo II. I think this is completely ridiculios that I can't even log in to simply buy something while this is going on. It makes no sense whatsoever... What other business site does that? "Oh, buy our [censored] but wait till 1pm... Well, better make it 3pm or 4. LOLOLOLOLOL" If it says "buy now" then I better be able to buy it right then and there.

End of rant

P.S.
Why don't they patch [censored] on Europe's time? Blizzard is American...

Computer need maintentence, just like any other machine - trains and planes get cancelled for failure and track maintenence, my credit card company sometimes wont take a payment because of updates, etc. They may just update everything in one batch job.

How rather Small worlded of you. I'll try to put my anger aside for a second and try to obey the no country bashing rules and instead suggest that an american tech working on europe time is going to expect some expensive overtime payments for working in the middle of the night, not to mention unlikely to be happy about the idea of a sleepness night.

Oh and how I'm I "small worlded?" I don't quite understand this (or why you'd you have to set your anger aside... if it's for battle.net then it's impossible for me)

It's small worlded of you to expect blizzard to alienate it's European customers just to satisfy you. Not to mention the other very logical argument that if they scheduled the maintenance for that particular time, there would be some serious overtime to pay out as it would happen around midnight or 1-2 am.
