Secondly, I know that there are topics about dead is dead gameplay, but it's not exactly, what I'm thinking of. I'm playing that mode as well, but I create this theme to write, what do you do to make Morrowind more difficult/realistic game. If there were any topics which exploit this problem, please, move my question to the correct place. By 'difficult/realistic' phrase I mean gameplay in general and all details connected with your morrowind character.
I will start with "difficult/realistic" details in general:
- going everywhere on foot (exception is when you know how to levitate). It's not realistic of course, but it makes Morrowind more challenging (especially, when you want to go to the East or North). And it's reasonable on the other hand, beacuse character learn more by going everywhere on foot.
- all scrolls can be used by mage classes, other classes can only use scrolls related with magic school in which they are specializing. For example, my archer can use scrolls with Restoration spells. In my opinion it gives more balance to the game. Orginally mages didn't have any advantages. What's the sense to get mage if warrior can use strong spells as well? It's more realistic also, beacuse reading scrolls shouldn't be so obvious for non - mage classes. I make only one exception for Alsmivi/Divine Intervention scrolls.
- limit of potions (5) and scrolls (4) arrows (15-25), which I can hold. It's not beacuse of weight, it's related to size. Going with 15, 20, 30... potions/scrolls is absurd. But it's not only esthetic detail. Now I have to consider, which potions/scrolls will be optimal for journey. And pack guars became really useful. Journey with guar from Bitter Coast to Grazelands is now much more challenging and exciting. But it concern to short journeys as well.
- no mark and recall potions. This is for those, who play dead is dead. Mark and recall are diffrent way of loading game. Intervention needs few second and there is chance to fail, and for recall there is no time delay. Just a simple way how to play DiD still with loading.
- looking at world map only in taverns
- no trainers
- no easy exping and cheating on bartering. There is option in Morrowind Code Patch, which make disposition you gain or lose after barter stay permanently, even after saying goodbye.
There are probably more details which I forgot to maintain (I will do it later, if I remember any). I play with NOM and swimming realism as well. Unfortunately in my English version of swimming realism I can't hold my character on water surface even when I'm not using any armor and weapons. My character is still swimming, but under water. It's not a big problem, but it's annoying sometimes.
I know, that those who play dead is dead for some time don't need advices, but if someone decided to play it first time, I recommend to download some Dark Brotherhood mod. It's better to play DiD when DB attack goes after main quest.
Please, write, what do you do, to make Morrowind more difficult and realistic.
