What's with caravan and the individual cards?

Post » Sat Mar 20, 2010 6:26 am

So I finally figured out the jist of playing caravan. But I'm still not 100% on a few things here.

All these individual cards that NPC's are selling, can you actually use them or what? If so, how do you use them in the game? Because I have not figured out how to move them from my inventory to a deck.

My 2nd question is more basic, has anyone been able to win money from playing caravan? Every time I bet caps and win vs a NPC I don't get anything except my money back. If I lose they take my money, what's the point of betting at all? Am I doing something wrong ??

Thanks in advance for answers.

Scripting bug. There's a fix in the PC Mods forum somewhere, if you can't wait for an official fix.

Could you help me find this "fix" in the moding section ? I can't seem to find it.

Play someone willing to bet money. They'll open with a bet, so if it starts at zero you won't get anything.

If it's just a single .esp file:

There's a 'data' folder in the new vegas directory (which is in YourSteamDirectory\steamapps\common) - then start the launcher, and go into Data Files. You should see the mod there. Check the mod, and you're good!

If it's more than an ESP, yell at the mod author for not including a readme. Chances are you just extract it all into data and then check any relevant ESP files.

Dangit Zenimax, fix this thing!

You can also add them to your deck without the fix. Just place them in any container and then take them back out again. They will vanish and appear in your deck.

I've had the same problem with a surplus ammo can! I had to drop it to the ground and pick it back up!
