DLC: starting Lonesome Road before even finishing Ring A Din

This is my 2nd playthrough of FNV. First time, I did not do any of the DLC. This time, DLC is about all I have done. I haven't even talked to Mr. House yet.

RIght now I'm in Dead Money and just hit level 30, probably a couple more to claim before I finish. I think Lonesome Road recommends 25, so I'm set as far as levels go there. Somewhere along the way I got the idea that Lonesome Road is supposed to be done at the "end of the game". It might be deviant, but I'd really rather do it next, if it won't break anything.

Is there any problem with doing Lonesome Road so early in the main storyline?

(I did get a little bit spoiled and I know that ED-E is an important character in Lonesome Road. I have finished ED-E My Love already.)

Is there anything else I really ought to do before hitting Lonesome Road?

If there is, obviously the answer will be a little spoily, but I would like to avoid unnecessary spoiling about the remaining content.

Not really.

Aside from the mention early on in-game (at Primm) Ulysses' isn't really mentioned much in-game.

Also, if you do most eveyrthing beforehand (meet with the various factions and help them, excluding NCR, Legion, and House) the remainder of the MQ is... surprizingly short. On my NCR Playthrough, the whole thing after signing on with the Diplomat guy in the Strip didn't last much more than an hour.
