Okay, so Amaranth as Individuation?

'The sword, treated as a delicate meal, is the Symbolic Collage. It serves you well in the first half of life. Name one dynasty that knows this not.'
"The first half of life is devoted to forming a healthy ego, the second half is going inward and letting go of it."

There is correspondance between the Sword and the Tower I think. Ego and self determination. The sword is even shaped like an I.

So what tool do you use in the second half of life?

Maybe the Sword at the Centre referring to the split between the First Part of Life and the Second Part of Life.

Is the Sword, death or enlightenment though?

Just stumbled upon this thread and it seems interesting. I'm not a huge lore buff, so could someone please explain to me what Amaranth is? From what I read on TIL it seems like an intermediary step between CHIM and divinity, in which someone who has achieved CHIM starts dreaming the same dream as the godhead, or the universe is not only the godhead's dream but the CHIM person's as well, or maybe the godhead is actually a collection of individual people who have achieved Amaranth and now dream the world into existence?

From what I gather, it's a step beyond CHIM. Rather than acknowledging that you are only part of a dream but still able to retain your individuality, you break free from the dream and form your own, stealing from the original dreamer in the process.

Oh (that sounds pretty awesome. So does the person who achieved Amaranth have their own universe?)

Possibly. I'm not trying too hard to find any correlations to characters or really anything firm, personally. I'm just trying to get the Numbers to make some sense. Any sense. And I think maybe we might find some clues there, also, since the Numbers seem to have been given to us all wrapped up in a clue-bow.

So what do we think the Number of the Master is? 11 is mentioned as 1 and 1 together, Nerevar and Dagoth Ur. And Sermon 11 is Vivec speaking directly to Nerevar, about... oh geeze about nearly everything. But mention is made of the Ruling King, and I think the "theme" of Sermon 11 is a general education of the Master, the next Ruling King, which I've always assumed was the Nerevarine.

But if 11 is 2 and 9 in cooperation, Divinity and Shezarr (Mortality?) then is The Master a mortal ascended to Godhood? The Amaranth?

I don't know if it has been mentioned, but what if we see the Sword 7=6+1?

6 Walking Ways + 1 Tower = The people walking on the path = Determination of making Free Will into Reality ?

So the first half of life is to reach the position, which is where the walking-way could lead one to. But reaching there is not enough, as it never breaks the dualism nature. So by that, in the second half of life, one need another weapon to fight the subgradience nature.

And is this weapon "Love"?

By that whoever or whatever that had reached Amaranth is definitely beyond the phase of Walking-Ways.

BTW, Vehk said Lorkhan failed in purpose so that we may know better. I wonder whether Lorkhan would succeed if he LOVES Aka and vice versa?

Don't worry. When it comes to CHIM, http://www.reddit.com/r/teslore/comments/13vxkv/chim_chiminey_chim_chiminey/. Feel free to ask questions there, so we can keep this specific thread from derailing.

Terribly off topic, Im sorry but in reference to the quotes from earlier in another topic (about joseph campbell I believe?) I just made the pledge to myself to always have something on hand to read till the rest of my days, might any of you recommend something interesting along the lines of what was discussed in the topic I referred?

Back to the topic, I like what Nihilee is thinking, the first half of life is about adding that 7, the second half is about removing it. Now what might the first and second halves of life be? Literal references to half your life of maybe the steps? Reaching CHIM that which requires love of self+love of others might fit into that "healthy ego" part, while reaching (note: reaching, as in getting there, not there yet) Amaranth may represent the second as a giving love, giving yourself wholly to something, your dream, your creations as a I keep none for myself sort of thing. Symbolic collage could be just building yourself up (building your healthy ego) to reach CHIM and understanding, once you have that you dont really need to care much about yourself in the end do you? You cant die anymore, well you might but you cant be erased, from CHIM, now and forever you will exist.

On a side note: whatever happened to 18=amaranth? I remember we thought that was it at one time (not to mention that sermon 18 is The Ending of the World is ALMSIVI, rather than the ending of the words is almsivi.
