Crysis 3 - More of Crysis 1 or Crysis 2?

Post » Tue Dec 04, 2012 12:33 pm

Well, time to post your opinion, its one of these three, try to keep it nice, we are all Crysis players, that's something right? :-)

Oh, and if you think it should be 80 -20, or the other way around, just vote for the one which is closest to your wish.

I'd say 75% C1 and 25% C2. The parts I want from C2 is the handling of the weapons, and basic game mechanics.

50-50 because both games were awesome in their own way (though I haven't played C1/CW MP)
But I think it will be 25% C1 - 75% C2, considering they are actually upgrading C2 with some new elements...

I don't like the fact that hip firing is more effective than ads in Crysis 1. There is no need of any sights like reflex or assault. You can just put the laser on your sniperrifle and snipe through the whole map

75% of Crysis 1
-Power Struggle,
-nozoom fire,

-no lagged weapons,
-precise dsg,
-laser to the dsg,
-sprint without speedmode,
-ftp access,
-free mods,
-dlc-free,
-shop-system,
-rank/prestige system in powerstruggle,
-nuclear weapons,
-tanks,
-vehicles,
-helicopters,
-vtol,
-normal bazooke,
-fast reload of heavy weapons
-the possibility of crawling,
-Punk Buster,
-ability to modify weapons attachments during the game
-weapon menu like in singleplayer,
-inertia customization,
-complete lack of killstreaks and perks (IT'S NOT CALL OF DUTY!).

This 25% of Crysis 2 is:
-catching the edges
-sideslip
-nanovision
-gamemods
-pro mode
-depreciation of a fall from a height
-awesome binoculars (better than Crysis 1)
-spot system
-airstomp

I'll have to go with 75% C1 and 25% C2, too. But I have a feeling it's gonna be 50-50.

I pretty much agree with this list. But if you were putting a % figure on what this list represents, a % on meaningful gameplay mechanics from C1 vs C2, I'd say it looks more like 85-90% C1 to 15-10% C2. Which would be just fine by me. To me most of the features listed for C2 are nice little features, emphasis on little, and doesn't represent a meaningful improvement to the crysis franchise's gameplay.

I want to ask people who want a combination of both, what they feel C2 does better than C1 as far as core gameplay goes. because as far as I'm concerned C2 FPS gameplay represents a downgrade in just about every way to C1. Enemy variety is possibly 1 point I'd give to C2

I am a crysis 1 and warhead player. Dont count me in on part 2. If I wish to play a console fps I would have pre-order C2 for the console and for the pc, like it did. Wish i never did, but I was bamboozeled by the fake hype created last year.

Crysis 3 can never be like the pc version that crysis started off with. Due to the console segment that has been added ever since part 2, you get a totally different way of developing a game. The core build is that for the console, which is then tweaked for the pc. Since the core design is made for the console, you may never every expect part 3 to anything like Crysis 1. Just accept the fact that crytek is a console developer and that we should be lucky that we even get a port for the pc. This is how it works on pc according to most developers that started out on pc and are now 100% focused on the console segment.

This.

..however I'd like to add that the nanosuit should (imo) greater resemble the N1. I don't care if they separate power mode back into speed and strength or not, as long as armour is default and 'power' requires activation and the sacrifice of defence.
