I have windows 7 and I know its likely the stupid IR transceiver I have tried over and over to uninstall the thing but it asks to restart and promptly reinstalls the transceiver upon restart. Can anyone help me?

Have you tried disabling the IR transciever in the Device Manager?

Yes, the disable button is greyed out and whenever I try and uninstall it the computer requires me to restart at which point the computer promptly reinstalls the transceiver its truly infuriating

You can use MGE to remap it to another key.
