Right, so after Oblivion functioning on every prior PC I have owned (including a prior Windows 7 64 bit machine), I keep running into this error, saying that Oblivion is unable to start, giving me a c000007b error ("7b"). From what I've read, 7b errors are usually driver related. I updated my video card drivers, and I downloaded the latest dx9 (June 2010), which ot my knowledge was not included with windows 7 or its updates. I also updated my realtek drivers. Still nothing. Fallout 3 however suddenly began to cooperate with me after giving me 7b errors, so the dx9 install helped with that, but not Oblivion. Am I missing something? Forgotten driver? SLI incompatibility? I am considering buying the steam version in hopes that that will come with a complete software package...
