Screenshot Troubles

Post » Thu Dec 13, 2012 11:07 pm

I'm experiencing an odd problem with screenshots; the screenshot counter resets every time I start a gaming session. If I play a bit in the morning and take, say, ten screenshots, I'll have screenshots 0-9 in my folder like I should. If I play again later and take ten more screenshots, I still only have screenshots 0-9 in my folder, but the new ones have overwritten the older ones. I don't like overwriting previous screenshots like this. What do I need to do to fix it?

Note: My OS is Windows XP Pro Version 2002 Service Pack 3

I have the same problem on Windows 7. I don't know the solution but I always copy screenshots after every session to another folder to avoid being replaced by new.

This is generally due to the game crashing when you quit. Before quitting, open the console and use the command

saveini

It should do. Be cautious though and save your screenshots after each session, just in case.

Edit: I take it you're not using the Steam version; this kind of trouble doesn't happen when you take screencaps with Steam.

I see, thanks. I'm not using the Steam version, yes.
