Music in the Fallout universe

I always wondered, how did music evolve in the Fallout universe differently from ours? In Fallout 3, the only music was late 40's, early 50's vocal songs. In New Vegas, you would occasionally find an acoustic guitar, and even hear it in some songs on the radio station. I remember Three Dog saying one time that the only records they could find that weren't destroyed by the Great War were those old-timey songs from the 40's and 50's. I wondered if more advanced musical instruments either failed to evolve in the Fallout world, like microchips, or those instruments are extremely rare, having been destroyed by the war.

Anyway, I wanted to post this to get your guys' opinions on this. I wanted to create my own radio station, but didn't want to completely obliterate the ingame lore. I have a few slow, sad sounding sounds that fit the wasteland vibe really well; but the problem is, a few songs have a slow, sad electric guitar in them. Do you guys think that this would destroy the lore, or should I use the station anyway?
