Planning to buy morrowind... help?

Post » Sat Dec 15, 2012 4:48 am

So I need advice on how morrowind will run on my laptop. I will give my specs below. I want to know if it will lag a lot, if Morrowind freezes occasionally like skyrim or maybe worse or better?

Does it overheat on my laptop etc?
Any further advice would be helpful as well. :)

Specifications:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
System model: HP Pavilion G6 Notebook pc.
Processor: AMD A4-3300M APU with Radeon™ HD Graphics (2 cpus) 1.9GHz
Memory: 6144 MB ram
Directx version: Directx 11

Display: Device:
AMD Radeon™ HD 6480G
Current display mode: 1366 x 768 (32bit) (60Hz)

If you need more info (and appropriate info :D) I will add.

I am not really a tech person and I play Morrowind on an Xbox, but looking at what you have posted, I cannot imagine you will have trouble running Morrowind on your machine. It is a 10 year old game and from what I understand you can run Morrowind on just about any PC or laptop built within the last five years.

You will want the unofficial patch that fixes a lot of bugs left in the game and you may want to look at mods. I'd encourage you to take a look over at the Morrowind forum lots of information over there and that would be a good place to ask tech questions. Here is a link to a thread with instructions on how to install Morrowind. Hope this helps!

@edit aaand it was moved.

I'm pretty sure that Morrowind can run on almost every modern PC, including laptops - but I have no idea how many FPS you'll get.

vanilla morrowind will run like a charm on ur laptop. I would even go with the morrowimd overhaul. Granted u wont be able to go on the deep end BUT just put in ur graphics card when it asks ya and it will let ya know what options will be fine for ur specs.

Morrowind goty=u can run fine
Morrowind goty with graphics overhaul=also run fine as long as u stick with what they recommwnd for ur spec.
Have fun and play it like its a different game. Understand combat by dependimg on what wewpon tyep u wanna run with and make it a major and have str and/or agi as ur main atributes.

Morrowind is 10 years old so if you can run Skyrim you can run Morrowind too. But isn't the game free as it has been 10 years since they released it?
