Amazing things (to me) I've learned in my latest playthrough

Let me start off by saying that I've put hundreds (hundreds!) of hours into Fallout New Vegas, and I've said it many times before here and other places that FONV is without a doubt my favorite game that I have ever played in my life.

Part of that assertion is that despite spending hundreds (hundred!) of hours into the game I see new things I've never noticed before. I'd like to share some of the ones from just this latest playthrough

- The prospectors in the Prospector's Den respawn after you clear out the gangbangers from inside. Seems simple enough, and in other places new people move in after getting rid of the old (like HELIOS 1), but it was too cool because not only can you live there in the Den with them (since theres a separate storage trunk just for you) but beds and an ammo press as well. And to boot, there's even a Prospector Vendor there unique to the Den unlike all the other wandering prospectors you can trade with

- You can take Scorpion Gulch east to connect the Southwest (NCRCF, Primm, Mojave Outpost, Goodsprings etc) and Southeast (Cottonwood Cove, Novac, 188 etc) portions of the map, emptying just west of HELIOS 1. This brings the total number (I've been wrong before!) of east-west connections in the southern half of the map to three: Nipton, Primm Pass, and now Scorpion Gulch, which all allow you to freely travel the bottom half of the game area completely avoiding Deathclaw Death between Sloan and and REPCONN HQ. This discovery was great for me since I like to limit how much and how often I fast travel

- You can sort the campfire crafting menu using the D-pad (or thumbstick) left/right just as you can sort the crafting bench and ammo press and vendor menus. It seems obvious, again, but I completely didnt notice until today when I fat fingered my thumbstick (eww) allowing for convenient separation of foods, chems, skins, and more.

- Northeast of Goodsprings roughly between it and the Yangtze Memorial is a quansan hutt, or Megaton-esque converted aircraft fuselage, abandoned shack. It has a bed, storage, a water source (though severely irradiated), and an ammo press. I love finding those out of the way hidey holes, and especially so close to the start of the game. Too cool

More to come as I find them. In the meantime, what were some of your "I cant believe I missed that!" moments?

I discovered that hollowed-plane house recently as well. I also discovered "The Big One" for the first time on the last playthough.
