Crusaders

Not sure really where to put this - too simplistic for the lore section, too general for the hints, perhaps too hinty for the general, but we'll see how it does.

I love the descriptions of the pre-made classes in MW, and one I was recently drawn to was the Crusader description:

Any heavily armored warrior with spellcasting powers and a good cause may call himself a Crusader. Crusaders do well by doing good. They hunt monsters and villains, making themselves rich by plunder as they rid the world of evil.

So these guys are sort of an awesome cross between a paladin, a sorcerer, and a witchhunter, with a helping of mercenary thrown on top? Why haven't I played this class before?!

I'm looking for a couple things here, if anyone cares to indulge me:

1) any discussion about the awesomeness of Crusaders
2) thoughts on a good build that would be lore-friendly and effective (apart from the pre-made class itself, of course)

and a third thing:

3) is there any lore on these guys, anywhere? Any famous TES characters who might be defined as 'Crusaders'? Any organizations that might fit this description (forget Knights of the Nine - too paladin-y)?

ok, ok, and a 4th thing:

4) what kinds of things might a Crusader type character do in Morrowind? Probably an easy question; what sort of guilds/houses/factions... general questlines, that sort of thing.

Join the Temple, kill the unbelievers. House Redoran is the most honorable House. (and the Temple and Redoran are close friends)

Seems like a decent build, too. Except you might want to switch out H2H for something useful.
And make sure the favored skills/attributes of your Factions match up with yours, or progress will be slow.

I think Knights of the Nine fits very well. Not much in TES Lore is going to get closer than that.
