Request- Necromancy mod

Post » Mon Mar 22, 2010 3:42 pm

Hi im going to start off by saying i am really new to these forums, modding, pc gaming etc...

I played the elder scrolls on the xbox (oblivion, morrowind) and just recently purchased morrowind for the pc just for the mods

The only mod i want is a necromancer mod all throughout playing the series of the elder scrolls i wished to be a necromancer which sadly you could not do without some very convincing roleplay :(

I am looking for a mod that would let me animate the dead, maybe become a powerful lich etc.. I have looked on PES, UESP, google for a good half hour today and cannot find anything (most are unfinished mod projects)

So if anyone with a helpful nature could help a "noob" find the one mod he wants that would be GREAT

Thanks in advance -m3anmik3y

There are some good mods out there for this, but one of my favorite is Magical Trinkets of Tamriel Volume IV. You'll need two things:

I wouldn't play a character without it.

Edit: Removed obsolete link. I are teh fastest.

The Necromancer mod would be Blasphemous Revenants by Fliggerty.

Magical Trinkets does have some Necromantic elements in it but it also has other inconsequential things and does not effect the world around you, so you have to roleplay the disposition of the world around you to your dark arts. It's also incomplete so there are some elements that where never incorporated. Blasphemous Revenants will affect the disposition of those around you who catch you at it, the revenants you create can wear armor and clothing as well as carry weapons and you can also create various types of Undead with it. Much more satisfying. You can find it on Fliggerty's site on PES.

edit -Mr. DarkSim beat me to it - also Dead Heroes is no longer necessary with the latest version of BR as it's included in it iirc.

This happens to be a personal favorite of mine: http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=1080

Edit: whoa...double sniped!

(Just a note: the Dead Heros Addon is not needed for anything later than v2.0. Consider it obsolete.)

First of all, it would be helpful if you posted the contents of your Warning.txt as it appears immediately after the crash. (this is found in your main Morrowind folder)
That file usually has a very good clue as to what causes crashes.

Secondly, Blasphemous Revenants does require Morrowind Script Extender to work. (version 0.9.2a or later)
Since you're new to mods, I want to remind you to always read the ReadMe file that comes with mods carefully ;)

I've never actually started, let alone finished it, but http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=mods.detail&id=732 apparently has a lich function.

I have far too many mods. Haven't seen 70% of my modded content

I've already got a question on Blasphemous Revenants. I got attacked by the skeleton at my house, read the note, went to Sulipund. Following the stench of death I took to mean 'follow the trial of skulls on spears'. I did that, killed the Orc Revenant. Now what? No more trail of skulls. No journal update.

Do you see the floating skull? Activate it. You will get a message on screen, and a door will appear.

I must be blind. Only skull I saw was the Orc Skull on its body. I'll head back and check.

EDIT: Yeah, no floating skull. Does it disappear once the orc's corpse does? I think I would've seen a floating skull, so I don't think it was ever there. I'm 98% certain I put the mod in my folder correctly, so... shrug.

Just give me the cell name that it sends me to and I'll coc in ;)

I've nearly finished IO, and while it is brilliant, there is quite a long questline before liches become an important part of the story. It covers lots of other weird stuff though, like vampirism and necromancy, but not in anywhere near the same detail as BR.

IO is a great quest and it ends with your character becoming a lich

However, AFAIK it does not give your character access to necromantic skills, as BR does, it only gives you lichdom, though you might as well use lichcraft(?) for that (or the IO/lichcraft patch).
I might be wrong about some of this, it's been a good 2 years since I played IO.

edit: removed spoilers, someone else already posted up that you become a lich.

snip

Your memory is quite good, as you're right on both accounts.

Also, if your not playing a vanilla race, you'll want Lichcraft (if you're into liches that is). And while IO doesn't give you necromantic spells like BR does, the quests are good, and some of the rewards are more then fitting for a necro
Spoiler
staff from the King of Worms? Yes, please
. The only part of IO I dislike is the backstory of the Order's founder, but that's just a personal preference.

I wish I could link it, but I seem to have forgotten what the mod was called. I believe it made skeletons out humaniod parts instead of them just being simple creatures, so that they could equip armor and the like. I was way into evil characters when I first started MW. All my rp characters were evil and I knew the ID's for the skulls and heather.. would often make shines in places I killed many people.

Anyways, it wasn't enough for me.. I came to realize that MW was no different with evil character being obsessed with death and immortality, and began to desire clothes that I could wear which would make me like a skeleton.. gloves that did the hands etc. Well with a mod that makes "human" parts, it's easy to add them and their models as an effect of the gloves, thus giving the appearance that your hands change shape when you put them on cuz well, they do!

Obviously that has nothing on BR, but if you ever feel like changing things up a bit, this is one such example. MW is quite adaptable as I am sure you know.

Oh and btw, welcome to the forums! Have a http://www.imperial-library.info/dogate/til_fishystick.jpg
