Has anybody every used the "oven trick" to fix their GPU?
If you don't know what that is, I'll give you a quick intro... When a GPU fails, it is sometimes because the solder on certain points of the PCB have fractured. By popping the GPU in the oven at about 183 C (melting point of common electronics solder) for about an hour, the solder will melt and rejoin.
It works all well in theory, but has anyone ever tried that?
BTW, if your considering using this for your $1000 NVIDIA GTX 690 that you tried OCing the other day, please don't. Try bringing it to a professional =) .
