The Small Things

We can all agree that the small things can make a game feel more well-developed and like a better experience. Granted, they should probably focus on the big things first, but attention to detail can make a game feel much more immersive. By small things, I mean things like animations for certain actions.

In the Dambuster video we saw a part where Prophet opens a vent by pressing X. When the vent opens, it just opens. No interaction with it, the vent just folds open. It's things like these that can really detract from an immersive experience. I think developers should like at Far Cry 3 when they need a comparison. The attention to detail in Far Cry is mind-boggling. Things like when jumping into water, you dive with your hands in front of you, or when you jump from a high distance you can see your feet stumble. When attention to graphical detail is great (in fact the greatest), attention to other details need to stack up just as well.

Sad thing is, Crysis 1 had (some of) those kinds of things, and then they were just removed for Crysis 2. That game looked at MANY of the Crysis cool features and just said "nope".

Interacting with everything in SP was one of the things that made Crysis what it was and it should of been a "must have" for the entire franchise.

Also, using stuff correctly you could pull off great tricks (throw a flashbang to the floor, then punch it in strenght mode: the flashbang will fly to the sky and blind all the enemies in the area when it detonates).
