In your opinion: Most beautiful province(s)

Post » Thu Dec 27, 2012 6:39 am

So I was thinking about what some of you think or might think are the most beautiful provinces? Obviously a lot of you might say either Cyrodiil, Skyrim, or Morrowind because they were featured in the game series so far, but I'm wondering what you guys might think would be beautiful if you don't like those three? I personally love the beauty of Skyrim but I think it could be because the Nords are my favorite race and I love their culture so it might be why I like Skyrim but I also thought Cyrodiil was absolutely beautiful.

Beautiful in what sense?

I found Skyrim's familiar terrain to be beautiful. Though I never could say the same about Solstheim in the Bloodmoon expansion.

Personally I thought Oblivion was quite scenic. It was typical generic fantasy and it did so with gusto.

Morrowind though? It was beautiful to me even with it's graphics holding it back. It was strange, sensical and beautiful. Seeing it remade with modern graphics would be amazing. Though I would be kind of pissed that BGS did that instead of a new game. I wonder if a different dev using Morrowind and it's source code could remake it with modern graphics while BGS made the next TES game? Then again there are mods that make Morrowind pretty damned beautiful.

Imo, despte it's age, Morrowind takes the cake. And really, we only saw Vvardenfell and a small part of the inner city of Mournhold.
Some fan art for morrowind really brings it home for me.

The Summerset Isles are supposed to be very beautiful. Makes sense since the architecture is all regal Altmer stuff, and the land is pastoral (based on the little we know.)

I don't think Morrowind is necessarily very pretty, but it's definitely very unique, which I love to look at.
Cyrodiil is pretty, but feels too simple. (since it mostly just forests and grass.)
Skyrim has some breathtaking scenery, but the land is harsh and bleak.

I love that it is harsh and bleak because thats why I think it makes it beautiful kind of like Alaska. I havent played Morrowind but I would assume it might be more visually appealing without the ash.
