Sound IssueCrashing

I've been playing New Vegas for the past month now with no issue, and recently went and purchased the Ultimate Edition. When I brought it home, I installed all the DLC off the second disc, and went on to play NV. Well, I loaded my last auto save, and about.. 4-5 minutes approximately, the sound completely shut off. To make sure it wasn't my Xbox, I went into my music and made it play a song while still in-game. I thought it would work itself out, and continued to play. About.. 15 minutes later, the game freezes. I've rebooted the game several times, tried different saves, a new character. Well, I went back to it possibly being my Xbox, so I popped in Skyrim and played for an hour with no issues. I then took the Ultimate Edition back to my local Gamestop and traded it back in for a regular copy of NV, seeing as I have the DLC on my Hardrive. Well, I have the same issues in the game. Could I get some advice on what it could be? DLC corruption? Just bad luck?
