Offing the Powder Gangers wo joining them

Post » Tue Jan 01, 2013 11:35 am

AFAIK, the only way to functionally take out the Powder Gangers is to join them and then eventually turn on them. Is there any way to activate the NCR raid without working for them at all? I'm playing a Good Natured character, and doing anything for those guys seems against my nature. Not to mention, it seems odd that the only way to really take them down is to join them. I know I can solo the prison and wipe them out myself, but apparently this doesn't count at endgame. So, any thoughts? Thanks.

Are you on PC? You might be able to add the quest via the console.

Try "setstage 0008d0e3 4" or "setstage 0008d0e3 5"

There is no other way than the powder ganger route then. But there are nonviolent solutions to each of the quests they give you and it doesn't really help them in the end.

The quests they give you aren't really 'evil', and can be solved nonviolently.
Spoiler
One is dispersing a smaller group of gangers, and the other is moving on a bounty hunter.

If you just want them dead, you can shoot up the prison on your own.

Activating the raid, supposedly you can bribe Dawes to get in and then do Eddie's quests (non-violently), but not if you have negative rep with them, which is tricky since many of them are aggressive.

I know what the quests are, but I wouldn't think a character like mine would even want to be associated with such a group. She'd like to take them out, but doing so on her own (which she would actually prefer) won't register at the endgame.

I had the same problem - but the first two parts of the I Fought The Law quest aren't that bad and can be resolved non violently. You can always roleplay like I did that your character is only working with them to gain information on their set up for the NCR

sure it does, there are two PG ending slides, one for the NCRCF and one for the Vault 19 PGs.

You can kill Eddie, the leader of the NCRCF PGs and it will be the same ending slide as if you killed him during the NCR raid in I Fought the Law

Being such a good fellow who wouldn't want to be associated with them, you merely need to head to their home and mercilessly slaughter all of them and the faction is pretty much gone. Though, if you want to eliminate the faction from the perspective of the endgame slides, the only one you need to kill is Eddie (at least on my ps3 version).

I just did this quest since I botched it the first time I played. I just went along with Eddie up until I talked to the NCR and then I turned on him.

Spoiler
I told the bounty hunter to leave if he knew what was good for him.

Spoiler
I killed the one PGer who was trying to start his own little gang.

But what's funny is that even though I wiped them out they are still friendly to me. Which I don't understand.
