An Ebony Cuirass issue

Post » Thu Jan 10, 2013 2:57 pm

A long while back, I downloaded a mod that makes a weird change to the standard Ebony Cuirass; it gives it a faux-reflective map. But it doesn't give make the rest of the armor shiny. And it's been so long since I've downloaded the mod I don't know which one made the change.

Anyway, I deleted the mesh file from my meshes folder. That... didn't work. For some reason, it's still shiny.

So, I have two questions here: One, which mod did it, and two, how do I either get rid of it or get the reflective map to ALL Ebony armor parts? Don't mind the reflective map... it just sticks out like a sore thumb when the rest of the armor doesn't have the map! Note that the mesh has been otherwise unchanged; it looks like a vanilla Ebony Cuirass, but reflective.

I think its caused by 'Allow reflection effects on skinned models' option in MCP. Try disabling it.

That did it! Thanks!

The problem isn't the MCP, the problem is that the default ebony cuirass model has a reflection map on it which only shows up in-game when you enable reflection maps on skinned models. A better solution would be to modify the model and remove the reflection map directly.
