West Coast BoS, Mojave Chapter and Outcasts are just power-armored fanatics and sociopaths that would rather see what few bastions of order have clawed their way up from the ashes be destroyed and consumed by slavers and raiders than tolerate anything that endangers their precious technological superiority. They're glorified raiders and nothing more. Their war with the NCR was completely unjustified and unprovoked, cost thousands of lives and nearly broke the only nation in the west, which would have thrown the entire region back into barbarism. I'm glad the Western BoS was broken by the NCR's resolve. For Veronica I didn't grind the Mojave BoS under my heel, but I sure as hell didn't help them much. They can stay in their dammed bunker until they get as inbred as Point Lookout for all I care of them. When (if) they emerge, they're find a united West under the watchful protection of the Bear, and if they so much as breathe wrong, they're meat.
The Midwest? I'll admit to not knowing much of them, save that while they are indeed fighting for everyone under their wing, they are a bit too iron-handed for my tastes. I've done some reading, and I like them. Really, if the Capital Wasteland BoS expands, I'd rather see the Midwest be their foil than the West. Both are working for the betterment of everyone, but the Capital Wasteland is more idealistic about it, and that's fine. Contact between East and Midwest BoS could only really be a good thing for both. A storyline where they meet could start out tense, and I can easily see it settling into a friendly rivalry.
That said, it's the Capital Wasteland BoS for me. They're the first BoS faction I've played with that is actually using it's talents and power for the good of all. No matter the reasons it's leadership may hold, they're Knights and Paladins are dammed well making a difference, and a good one, for the whole region.
People in and around DC know that when they see Brotherhood troops, they're safe. CWBoS may not be perfect saints, but who is?
If one has the power to make even a small difference, the responsibilities of that power demand they do so. For that reason the Midwest and Eastern BoS can rightfully be heralded as heroes, and the Western BoS chapters are nothing but a contemptible waste.
