Creature collision problem

I've turned chunks of daedric rubble into creatures so you can bash them with a daedric pickaxe to clear a door in a dungeon (they're scripted to have insane health unless that specific weapon is equipped). Since I found you can't just rename a static and have it work as a creature, I pasted chunks of daedric rubble over an invisible version of Smite's slimes. It seems the slime part is the part the player actually hits, so I had to resize them so they envelope the rubble at player-height. Unfortunately, though I kept the rubble's collision node intact, you can walk right through them. Anyone know how to fix this?
