Gradual slowdown issue.

Right - so I've noticed that my game has a habit of beginning to slow down the more I play it. When starting a new game everything runs smooth; as I get deeper into the game, however (particularly in the area of New Vegas) it all begins to get choppier, response times lag, loading and saving takes forever, and menus take a long time to load in - this persists even if I leave particularly laggy areas. I've experimented, and reloading an older save will make the game run smooth, whereas if I use a more recent save I get the problem I've described.

I'm pretty much at my wits end here. I've tried employing the .dll fix, the Stutter Remover, and the 4GB fix. Nothing works. I'm running a fairly modern system with a very good video card, capable of running New Vegas at Ultra settings with no discernible slowdown (at least when I first start the game...)

In terms of mods, I have Project Nevada, Fellout, and Interior Lighting. I have a few mods that add more detail and buildings to certain areas of the game, as well as some quest mods. If you need a precise list, I'll provide one, but if anyone can suggest a fix or knows the nature of the issue I'm having, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!
