My Faith has been somewhat restored!

Okay, to catch up, my original post can be found here:

http://secure.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=55900

Here is Steam's reply, my response and their corresponding silence:

I tried contacting EA to get this issue resolved, but they are requiring a confirmation of purchase email that I no longer have. In point of fact, I had to change my registered email address with Steam because the previous email address wasn't active.

Generally speaking, my contacts with Steam support - while they take FAR too long to come to resolution - you guys to actually manage to get things solved.

I can't play a game I legally purchased. Since I purchase all of my games and refuse to pirate - why would I? Steam makes it easy to purchase and cheap too - you can understand that I'm reasonably upset.

Please help me resolve this.

Thanks.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Steam Support.

First, please do the following:

-If you are running in Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8, please completely exit Steam, and right-click on the shortcut which you use to launch Steam and select "Run as Administrator."

-If you are running in Windows XP, take the following steps (ignore these if you are using Windows 7 or Vista):
1) Exit Steam.
2) Go to the "Start" menu, select "Run", type "regedit" and click "OK".
3) Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\VALVE
4) Right click and select "Permissions"
5) Check the "Allow" boxes for "Admin" and "System" for both "Full control" and "Read".

Then verify the GCF for this game:

You can view all keys purchased to your Steam account by right-clicking on the game in your Library list and selecting "View Game CD Key", or by clicking on the "CD Key" link to the right of the game's Details page.

If you receive an invalid key error, please ensure that you are entering any dashes when you input your code for Crysis 2. Entering the code without dashes may cause you to receive an invalid key error.

If you are still having difficulty registering your keys or cannot remember your gamesas account credentials, you will need to contact EA in order to determine the status of your CD Key:

This did not help at all. I contacted EA customer support and they are requiring an email confirmation of my purchase in order for them to move forward. If you can resend the confirmation, I would very much appreciate it. If you need some sort of information from me, please let me know.

Today, I received this message in my email:

Greetings,

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.

Your case was escalated to me today. My name is Samrat and I am now your personal Games Specialist who will be handling this case from here.

After reading up on your case notes, I understand that the code is not working. I am sorry to hear that. I have gone ahead and entitled the game on your account. Please login to Origin and download the game with your e-mail id '...'.

If you face any issue, please let me know.

Electronic Arts appreciates your efforts and involvement in our Games and take this opportunity to express our gratitude. You may access our online knowledgebase on:

Sincerely,
Samrat
Electronic Arts- World Wide Customer Experience

Upon launching Origin and confirming my email account again (why? I dunno, but w/e), I did, in fact, receive an Origin copy of Crysis 2! I was ecstatic... until I went to download/install it. Sadly, they sent me a Japanese language copy. Needless to say, I responded - politely - to EA's email asking them to please change this. I'll keep you updated.

Here's my bottom line:

1) I had a problem, EA initially blew me off, Steam gave me the kiss off too. So I loudly blew up every forum there was.

2) While the customer response wasn't as quick as I would've liked, EA did finally take the correct steps to make the situation right (perhaps goaded into doing so by Crytek? If so, Kudos to you my German friends!), even if they did stumble a bit.

While all has not been made completely well - yet - it is satisfying to know that, should things swing in an unfair direction, Crytek/EA seem to be willing - however marginally - to make things right. This is as it should be.

As soon as my copy of C2 on Origin is in English (US) I will be pre-purchasing C3 and awaiting its release with baited breath.

Thanks.
