I only played Fallout: New Vegas. And yesterday I watched some videos of somebody doing a let's play of the original Fallout. It was fascinating. It was very different, but it was also very similar. The combat was turn based RPG that's very similar to what we have now in VATS. Some players talk about not using VATS and how it breaks their immersion. But the original Fallout was 100% VATS.

It was a nice learning moment. It's amazing how the game was changed so much yet remains true to the original spirit of the game.
