MCA 5.2

Post » Wed Mar 24, 2010 6:35 pm

Hello all, my first post here.

Now I don't know if anyone else gets this, but the NPCs from the MCA mod don't greet me with voices. Instead they just turn and face me. I've tried reinstalling. Any ideas?

It would appreciated with a posted load order.
I don't if I can help you but I'm sure some else can, so please be patient and wait for others to assist you with your problem. :)

I've never provided a load order before. Do I include unticked mods?

The load order does not include 'unticked' mods.

Well that explains it, anyway all you have to do is to look in the Morrowind folder (:\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind) and for the Morrowind.ini file. Once you have found it just double click on it and should have loaded the notepad, now scroll down to the "[GamesFiles]" section to marked it then right click to copy. Just close notepad without saving and paste it into your reply here.

Details on supplying your mod list and warnings.txt are http://www.mwmythicmods.com/starting.htm#6.

I'm just trying to think whether or not MCA NPCs do actually use voice greetings or not...

I think I've found your problem, but I'm not sure about it okay. You need to move the 3 last ones and placed just after the 'master_list.esp', if not this is working for you can read the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1083121-relz-mlox-a-tool-for-anolyzing-and-sorting-your-load-order/page__p__15780483__fromsearch__1&#entry15780483 thread.

Just to note that the mod list from morrowind.ini is displayed in alphabetical order and not load order. Regardless, I'd recommend a download and run of mlox as C.Carjades says.

I'm not sure I've heard the generic MCA NPCs voice greet, but the MCA companions (the ones with names) do. Could you give an ID for some of the NPCs that do not greet? (just open the console and click on the NPC to see their ID in the title bar of the console window). Or if you've enabled http://yacoby.silgrad.com/MW/Tuts/IniTut/IniPopup/BetaComment.htm in Morrowind.ini, you could just betacomment them, and cut and paste the result from the betacomment file into a post.

Well mlox didn't fix it. :(
The only MCA NPC who actually talks is that red headed Breton lady in Seyda Neen.

It looks to me like the named MCA NPCs should voice greet, like you see with Marianne de Castor in Seyda Neen, but many of the generic MCA NPCs have a script that declares "nohello", so they will not greet. So, I believe this isn't a load order issue, it's just the way MCA is supposed to work.

If I where you I would use Wrye Mash to a take closer look with this issue just to see what's going on.

Wyre Mash wouldn't be able to fix this issue, C.Carjades. If what John pointed out is true, then it's how MCA is supposed to work and WM wouldn't do anything to change it.

Maybe your are right, but I only suggestion the Wrye Mash if the OP can have some hint what might cause the error.
If I've these kind of issue I would put the 'MCA Mog Addon v5.2.esp' after the mog mod or place the mog mod before the MCA addons.

Is there an error? I'd trust what john.moonsugar's saying here: things are working as designed, standard MCA NPCs don't give voice greetings, only the named NPCs from MCA do.

[Edit: spelling]
