Can people be displaced in time without Elder Scroll use?

This has been a thought I've been entertaining for a while as an excuse for using characters alive in 3E in Skyrim's age without resorting to vampirism. Do any of the buffs here know if it's possible? Nords did it to Alduin with a Scroll, but.. is it possible otherwise?

Could possibly happen to them if they were alive during a Dragon Break. Or maybe they could have been sent to a Daedric Realm/Outer Realm where time flows at a different speed than in Mundus and when they came back it was many years later even though to them only a few years had gone by. Or they could just be an elf.

Heh, well the elves I'm not really having to excuse. I've got a couple that I used Corprus on, but this wouldn't be relevant. It's one of two Khajiit, one of which born in late Third Era (who never lived near Morrowind) and the other a good hundred-fofty or so years before the Oblivion Crisis. I like the Deadric Realm idea, though.
