Fallout 3 hardest possible playthrough suggestions.

Post » Wed Jan 23, 2013 3:00 am

I have just recently finished my 3rd playthrough of FO3 GOTY edition, very hard difficulty on xbox and i was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on making the game even harder still to finish. I have tried making my character build next to usesless by taking rubbish perks, poorly chosen SPECIAL, no compaions, no bobbleheads or skill books and using mediocre weapons/armour. I havent yet tried the game on the PC, would that make a difference with downloadable mods?

Doesnt that defeat the purpose of the game though? and besides... who would have the patience to achieve that? also some parts of the game would be unpassable.

If you have the ability to get Mods on your PC I would recommend doing it. There's a Wasteland Wanderers Mod or something? That adds some really cool features making it WAY more survival oriented. I don't have a PC but my friend does and last night I was watching him play and its amazing.

They add tons of weapons, food that doesn't increase health, but is there to eat when your character gets hungry. Crippled limbs need to be healed with medical braces and Stimpaks and even then it barely heals them, just makes them no longer crippled. Weight to literally everything. You'll need to drink water and sleep every so often (not enough to where its an annoying burden). You die much quicker, but enemies also die much quicker adding realistic combat. Meaning gunshots do way more damage, and melee does a ton as well. Radiation effect are 10x as potent. For example going in water gives you about 17rads/sec. Falling does more damage, often crippling you. More enemies throughout the wasteland and caravan's have way more mercenaries guarding them to ensure they don't get killed as often. And your accuracy isn'taighay bad on default so you can actually engage enemies without fear of spraying bullets everywhere but the enemy from a low level, however enemies have an unerring accuracy as well. You can also disarm an opponent easier if you're accurate enough, but they pick their weapons up much quicker than normal. Your sneak ability is much better from a low level. You at least have a chance of hiding even if your skill level isn't that high. There's no way to tell when you're "hidden", but if you're crouched the enemy won't see you easily and will search for you as long as you aren't firing at them or moving too much.

I plan on getting a PC soon and can't wait to try this mod out.

You're thinking of the Fallout: Wanderer's Edition. http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/2761

And I agree, if you're looking for a hardcoe mode for Fallout 3, that mod is easily the best option. Good luck and Safe Travels through the Wasteland. :)

Only repair limited cripple damage...it's a lot harder when you can't run and can't shoot straight. Also try realistic load limits - 1 x longarm, 1, maybe 2 x handguns, and limited reloads for them.
