The suggestions are just silly...
I honestly think people seem to struggle to distinguish between fallout and say borderlands.

Voiced protagonists and romance. Yeah. We had a conversion from non-voiced to voiced protagonist in one series and look how that turned up. (Dragon Age 2).

And Romance is a horrible idea. Because we are speaking about Bethesda here.

Not just that Bethesda is working on fallout but in general it doesn't have a place in fallout.

Co-Op is crap, don't need some other schmuck ruining my gaming experience
I'd rather have fewer quests that are better written/thought-out, than hundreds of quests that don't add anything but "Go into X building, retrieve Y item, get Z reward"
There are only a finite number of vaults, so having fans make their own should be left to the Modding community
I would much rather see Fallout 4 developed as a PC game first with console support added on, instead of Skyrim's crappy Console interface being ported over to the PC.

While I agree that going from not voiced to voiced is a bad idea, for most RPGs in general, that change had literally nothing to do with why DA2 was bad, that was the repetitive caves, pointless choices, and respawning enemy waves, amongst other things.

Also, romance is bad, period. All one has to do is look at Mass effect's "do one thing for me and I will be ur waifu" system to see why.

but yeah, this video, and the people in it, are stupid.

Weirdly enough the video loaded quite fast for me (took 30 minutes for it to load up on the lowest quality but hey, it's faster than usual) and uhm... Bethesda, no, bad Bethesda, do NOT listen to these people, NO I tells ya! BAD BETHESDA! *whacks BGS with a rolled up news paper* You best not cater to them "fans".

Yeah, tell me about it. I payed full price for the collector's edition blinded by the greatness of DA:O. And this annoys me to this day. From that point forward I had never bought a game on a release date.

I have to see a good romance subplot in video games. To this day, no such thing happened. I would even argue that the romance subplots worked better in older 2D games, than now.

Blech. I rather prefer the way Fallout handles "romance" as of now. Or rather, you just sleep with people (like Fallout 2, there was a lot of that like the shotgun wedding thing, or the mob boss' daughter and wife, or that pormography job), but you don't merry them or romance them! I'm ok with that since romance means you need to build bonds, and in a game it's too comlicated to add something like love if it's not a linear story with a set protagonist or something. Fallout is not that.

And co-op in my opinion would only be great in a Tactics type of game. The best part of Fallout is story and dialogue, something you don't really focus on in co-op play. You focus on action and dikeing around with friends and getting good loot. But then the game becomes just like any other game with co-op. People who want that for Fallout can either go play Borderlands or try start up a game of Fallout Tactics.

Funny, I don't remember anyone requesting Co-op. Only despising the idea. Keep Co-op or any sort of multiplayer away from single player RPGs it would only ruin the point of the game even being an RPG at all.

So this may just be asking for it, but I don't think co-op would be such a bad idea. I like adventuring in Fallout and Skyrim, but I'll admit, it gets lonely. Maybe that's the point. It would have to be done right though. Not giving it a chance because "that's not what Fallout is about" doesn't make a lot of sense. Video Games, like people, can grow change and evolve overtime. Either way, a ton of people would hate on the co-op, but I know almost everyone of those people would buy a Fallout with co-op.

I thought the part about vaults had some good ideas, especially about bringing in science fiction writiers to create specialized vault stories. It sounded interesting, and you could apply that to any location in the game. More story variation and depth, the better. Maybe have a contest and bring some fan fiction to life? Of course people would read the fan fiction and know the story beforehand, so that might ruin it.

I am soooo glad bethesda hasn't shifted from its RPG roots too much to the point where voiced protagonists and co op would be standard. Thank god. It's one of the few studios left that still provide a quality single player RPG experience.

As for romance ? They shouldn't toy too much with romance until they perfect the main story itself. Romance in video games very often comes across as cheesy and shoehorned, and only bioware has been able (so far) to make it seem natural and even they don't always get it right (see dragon age 2).

Actually witcher 2 pulled off romance pretty well too, even better than bioware in some respects. If they're going to introduce romance, they could do worse than following witcher's lead.

I think relationships could work e.g having to keep companions happy or they walk off / attack you but it's not really a game that needs or as room for love. I need to think about the co op abit more but it could work just not sure it is worth the time, having it so your friend could control your companion maybe the answer
