Text Box?

Just wondering what the community thinks if Black Isle reintroduces a text box like in Fallout 1 and 2. This, for me at least, was one of the major lacking points in Fallout 3. In F1 and F2, (not so much FT) it was a great place for the dark humor "You critically hit Super Mutant in the groin for 56 damage. Man it's a good thing he's sterile or he'd be pissed." It also gave you more information, how much damage you're actually doing, taking, etc...

Really hope Black Isle brings it back, as well as the random encounters. For as much as Interplay's Fallout was dark and gritty, it was also hilarious.

Edit: Yeah, Bethesda had random ecounters, but weren't nearly as awesome as the Monty Python references, i.e. the bridge with the guard who asks you three questions...

We have an http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1097608-what-do-you-want-in-new-vegas/ for ideas like this, you're welcome to repost this idea in there :)

Given that this game will be released in 3-5 months they probably don't have the time to implement a major new feature like this, and given the amount of text they'd have to add for it it would be a major feature. However suggestions like this may still influence future Fallout games.

Black Isle no longer exists, although Obsidian Entertainment (the developers of New Vegas) does have a number of former BI employees.

I think they could be incorporated in to a FPP game without too much trouble.
