Crysis 3 Beta for Consoles - Ded. Servers or Peer2Peer?

Post » Mon Jan 28, 2013 8:59 am

Most people that played the C2 Demo will remember that (sadly) the connections on it were a lot better than in the actual game, and even playing international or cross-atlantic matches did not deteriorate the experience (no lag, no Host Migrations).

That always seemed a bit weird to me, and I have been harboring a certain suspicion that maybe the Demo ran on dedicated servers, while the actual game stepped down to Peer2Peer hosts. Which might be total rubbish, but the quality of the Demo was one of the main reasons I even bought C2 back then, just as the C3 demo will most likely be a determining factor if I buy the sequel.

So I'd like to know if the server/matchmaking/hosting framework that will be used for the Beta will be the same as the one for the actual game after release? Will the connection quality of the Beta towards the end be a good indication of the connection quality for the full game?

Was there ever any information released on that, or any statement? I'd really like to know that.
