I'm making a mod for Skyrim that readjusts the smithing perk tree. Instead of having one perk per material I wanted to group several materials under logical labels. For example: Steel, Scaled and Steel Plate are all grouped under 'Nordic Smithing' because they share similar materials (steel) and style (nordic). I also want to do a similar thing for elven armors. Hence the question: is ebony armor considered an elven armor by the lore? On that respect I read the following but it had no source so I'm not sure if I can trust it:
"Ebony and glass were both developed separately by Altmer and Dunmer because both have ebony and glass in their homelands in relative abundance, no clue where the Altmer get it but the Dunmer had a load of mines around Red Mountain. Both ores are made by (or found near) magical volcanoes and other places related to the divine."
Thanks for any information!
PS: I know orcish and dwemer armors are also elven armors but knowledge on how to forge those will be achieved in a different way in my mod.
