building a pc.. where can i save money

Okay ive been on here before but im back like i never left.
want to run crysis 3 on ultra and skyrim and so on and so on

Motherboard- Z77X-UD5H (gigabyte) (197.00)

Cpu- i7 3960x($1060) or i73930k $569.00 or i5 3570k $230
( now I heard it doesnt matter what processor I get but let me know

Gpu- Hd 7970 ($379)

12gb ram ($80.00)

samsung 830 ssd 256gb ($204) or 128GB ($130)

windows 8 ($140) or Windows 7 ultra ($304)

Monitor- Dell ultra sharp ($ 209)

Keyboard/Mouse- Logitech g19 ($130) LOGitech G9x ($70)

power supply - AX850 ($169)



I got the optical drives and fans…. soo Im between 1800-2100 bucks give or take the cpu's and OS..

where can I save money but still run crysis 3 on ultra

Unless you intend to do 3d rendering/massive math calculations on your own, there's no reason to select the i73960x..at all. The i5 is going to give you the most 'bang for the buck'.

Why 12GB RAM? You're either going to get 3x 4GB or 6x 2GB neither of which you would want to do because a) none of the CPUs are triple-channel b) it's a waste of space. I would get a 16GB kit (2x 8GB) for about $5-10 more USD. RAM isn't really critical beyond 8GB, but it's so cheap that it really doesn't matter.

I would also recommend getting a secondary 7200RPM traditional HDD. You can store your documents, movies, and games that don't really need the SSD here.
