Why are there sidewalks?

I just assume that there will be carts moving along the streets when I'm not there cause of all the crates lying around. They must have got there somehow.

While Imperial CIty is pretty friggin well made I'm just a bit disappointed in how cold it is. All that gray stone and tile. It would be nice with some wooden buildings and narrow alleys and such, but I'm hoping some of the other cities will be like that. I haven't made it out of IC yet =)

Historically, the sidewalks were paved areas next to the unpaved streets, so you could walk through town without getting covered in mud when it rained. That's why the English term is "pavement". By the time the colonies were founded, it was common to pave the roads as well, but that meant you had to keep your horses shod.

There's a sidewalk and a street, and having horses being able to enter cities wouldn't be that complicated, they wouldn't be able to enter dungeons because the doors are usually to small, I'm sure there's a mod for that though, to bad I'm on xbox :(

They can enter dungeons if you use a command creature spell of the correct magnitude. :celebration:

Added a bit latter: Unless that was a horse whose intelligence was modded to be higher, creatures need an intel above a preset level to follow threw doors and use steps in oblivion.
