Telekinesis

Move objects, activate things, and most importantly, allow for throwing of NPCs.

Mysticism is my favorite type of magic, and Telekinesis is my favorite spell.... Both should be given lots of attention by the developers. I think that Telekinesis needs to be a powerful weapon as well as a useful tool.

I liked how you could use it in Morrowind to set off traps from a distance. It'd also be nice to use in combat. Cast the spell to pick up an item, and press a button to fling it forward. Magnitude could be the max weight you could pick up, and more weight would do more damage. Maybe add area effect to let you pick up multiple items at once. That could be fun; like you get caught stealing from a mysticism master and suddenly all the random clutter in the room lifts up and starts flying at you.

Possibility for stealth-oriented characters: Program guards to investigate noises/objects moving or falling. With telekinesis, it should be possible to knock over books, ceramics etc at another end of the room/corridor, causing guards to go investigate so you can slip past while they're pre-occupied.

Don't know how well-known telekinesis is to the population of Tamriel, but it seems like it would be hard to distinguish from poltergeists. There is a potential here to make some funny small quests where you try to convince an NPC a house is haunted by acting as a poltergeist, using telekinesis. Not really a major suggestion, but it could be funny, a bit like the quest in SI :P

Your idea of telekinesis is nice! :goodjob:

never really used telekinesis in oblivion, there was already a button to take things up, without using hands
it was the grab button

I want to shoot daggers off my hands using telekinesis. Depends on how far target is and how much magicka it spends, it would cause more damage!
It would be also cool to use the telekinesis to manipulate a nearby heavy objects to hit enemies distance away.
To build upon that, a mage should be able to manipulate a dagger on the air to fight for him. It would be like a summoning spell, except it requires a dagger, and the summoned creature is intangible and invisible.
With a lot of magicka, it should be possible to throw people around! Of course, if the target has magicka resistance or wears heavy gears, it would be considerably harder (cost more magicka).

Definately allow for interacting with the environment like activating traps or pushing blocks or pulling levers from a distance. It would be even better if dungeons were designed with this in mind, so you could access new areas of a dungeon by using mysticism to push a button that you can't normally reach. Sadly though, the philosophy behind oblivion seemed to be that every character could go everywhere and do everything. I hope that changes for skyrim.
