(Mostly referring to New Vegas with this thread)

Just wondering how the hell you do it? Do you have to play in a certain way, or choose particular and well thought out specials and skills? Like really, really well thought out, down to every factor.

Just playing on very easy/easy is hard enough a lot of the time, throw in hardcoe and that is a 'whole nother' thing.

I'm actually quite curious to know how a lot of you guys pull it off, because I know some of you are very serious in your playing and like it extra challenging (from what I have read anyway).

BTW i'm talking playing veryhard and/or hardcoe right from the start of the game to the end.

I play hardcoe mode but not on very hard. It pains me to have to shoot something in the head 9 times before it falls over. Pulling it off involves getting sneak critical hits whenever I can. Shooting out legs to slow down melee enemies or shooting weapons out of enemies hands also helps. Also, I'm a fan of explosives.

hardcoe yes, but Very Hard is a little too oppressive. I usually do playthroughs on Normal or Hard.

I do, and I use a mod that lets me take chr/2 = companion limit. I also run mod companions and mods that take away companions unlimited weapons so I have to do all the supply of ammo and equipment. then I have the increased wasteland spawns mod So then I can start to have my squad vs. almost platoon sized forces of enemy. It gives you something to do with your end game supplies. :3 However, I only slowly rachet it up to very hard by the end game I start off at normal or hard. With the mod setup I have running very hard would be way way too brutal with the increased spawns I'm running at.

I am so jealous right now. That sounds awesome.

The legion raid base where you complete the booted quest had like 20 legion in it. Tha twas scary even with me and 4 companions when one grenade can pretty much cripple you or kill you outright....
