Are normal clothes viable to wear

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 12:15 am

I've just started a new character who specializes in stealth. I'm playing on normal and was wondering if normal clothes could get through the game. I am currently wearing the Merc Charmer outfit but also I have the light-weight leather armor in case it dose not work out. Has anyone done this that can l me if it will work?

I'd find it hard to go through the game completely hidden, especially at the start. In interiors it's manageable, but when you're in the wilderness and get ambushed you'd find it extremely difficult to survive without any armour.

Give it a go though, see how it turns out. You could perhaps wear light armour in unknown territories, and then clothes in interiors and everywhere else? Just a suggestion.

That is kind of how I planned on doing it. I plan in wearing my light armor in areas where I know or suspect hostile forces might be at and wear my clothes indoors and in cities.

That sounds reasonable. Just remember to constantly be alert, New Vegas is an unforgiving place at low levels, especially in clothes :P
