I have an Alienware M14 laptop with a few basic graphical settings from the computer itself, and then my actual graphics card appears to be a Nividia GeForce GT 555M
when I first installed MGSO I had to tinker around with it for a long time to get it to run right. Even on medium settings (which is what my graphics card is only able to run on according to the database the mod links you to) the game ran very poorly. So just for kicks and gigs I set my computer to fast, which on its own, would only make things worse, but, I also set the game, upon launch, to run on the high-performance Nvidia processor.
now the game runs just fine, it runs great, and with all the settings I originally got MGSO for in the first place (a lot of what I wanted couldn't be run on Medium) My computer seems to run decently enough, it doesn't get alarmingly hot or chug in any disturbing way.
but I'm also very paranoid about my computer's maintenance since my laptop was not cheap, and it's the only computer I have (unlike most people, I don't have a desktop and a laptop to go between, I can't afford it) my laptop is my desktop.
long story short, am I actually damaging my computer by running MGSO on Fast and with the high-performance Nvidia processor set for the game using a GeForce 555M?
thanks
